Like many people (if not all) my emotional well-being hits peaks and valleys. Those valleys come when I lose sight of the fact that God is a sovereign God and He is in control of all situations at all times. In particular since COVID, I have been rattled because I do not trust what I hear in mainstream media, and I am concerned about the motives behind the mandates put forth by the powers to be, and what could be coming down the road. Many Bible verses have helped me regain focus when I start to worry. Psalm 46 in particular is a powerful reminder that God is allowing all this to happen. He is in the midst of all this craziness. HE IS IN CONTROL! I pray you will find this passage uplifting and reassuring regardless of your worries and where you are in your faith journey.
Psalm 46
“God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved;
God will help her right early.
The nations rage, the kingdoms totter;
he utters his voice, the earth melts.
The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Come, behold the works of the Lord,
how he has wrought desolations in the earth.
He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
he breaks the bow, and shatters the spear,
he burns the chariots with fire!
“Be still, and know that I am God.
