“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His steadfast love endures forever!…” Psalm 118
I have been thinking of Thanksgiving for some time now, a tradition established for our country to take time out to thank God for sustaining us and to recount and celebrate His unending goodness.
I have so much for which to be grateful! More than anything, I am grateful for life itself and all the opportunities that life presents. A few years ago, I would not have said this, but that is a story for another blog and another day.
I am grateful for the opportunity to have my own wellness practice and assist people on their journey towards optimal health, to listen to people, to fall down and get back up again, to make mistakes and be okay with it, and to enjoy God’s beauty in His creation and in the people He has put in my life.
Here are two of my favorite gratitude quotes, taken from Max Lucado, “You’ll Get Through This” perpetual calendar:
July 19. “Gratitude always leaves us looking at God and away from dread. It does to anxiety what the morning sun does to valley mist. It burns it up.”
July 20. “Gratitude gets us through the hard stuff. To reflect on your blessings is to rehearse God’s accomplishments. To rehearse God’s accomplishments is to discover his heart. To discover his heart is to discover not just good gifts but the Good Giver.”
Oh, how I desire to always have a heart of gratitude, despite the circumstances, despite all the turmoil currently surrounding us! May I be ever mindful of God’s goodness as it says in the Bible:
Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you!” 2 Thessalonians 5:16-18
I would love to hear what you are grateful for. So, leave a comment below.
Peace and grace,
Karen

I have a heart of gratitude for the Lord’s mercy in bringing my sister & me together during these very difficult times; for helping me minister to her as she battles cancer & chemo; and for His endless mercy and gift of salvation.
Karen, I love your picture! Such a peaceful and radiant smile. And such truth about gratitude. I thank God for you!
